Design at Phillips de Pury 12/13/2007
We were at Phillips de Pury in New York on december 13, for the big annual auction sale of contemporary furnitures.
A lot of records were reached with pieces not older than 20 years.

1) The "D" sofa from Ron Arad, 2003, was estimated between $80,000 and 100,000. It was sold $409,000.

Mirror-polished stainless steel.   Produced by Ron Arad Associates, UK.  Base impressed with artist’s mark and incised  “Ron Arad 18/20" and further incised with post-production delivery date "06/2007.”  Number 18 from an edition of 20.

 

2) “Sushi” sofa, 2003, from FERNANDO AND HUMBERTO CAMPANA, was estimated between $150,000 and $200,000. Sold $253,000.

Felt, textiles, plastic, EVA, steel. 31 1/2 x 64 x 30 3/8 in. (80 x 162.6 x 77.2 cm)  Produced by Campana Objetos Ltda ME, Brazil.  From an edition of seven plus two artist's proofs and three prototypes.  Together with certificate from The Campana Studio.


3) The “Sushi IV” chair, ca. 2003, from FERNANDO AND HUMBERTO CAMPANA, was estimated between $40,000 and $50,000. Sold $85,000.
