We continue our list of interesting furnitures for investment, with 4 furnitures.

Continuing with the Bouroullec production, we can find some interesting pieces, produced in limited editon, and with affordable price.

In famous Cappellini editions exists a small independant collection named "Progetto Ogetto". It includes small objects, as bowls and dishes, lamps, candle holders, ashtrays and Vases. In the vase catalogue you can find items designed by Marc Newson (sold out), Jasper Morrisson(sold out) and Bouroullec Brothers.

On piece from Ronan Bouroullec is always available: a candle Holder in ceramic at the price of 400€, $650. It'll be sold out soon. Produced in limited edition, it could a good investment for the next 10 years.

  • Always in the Bouroullec production, you can find (in France specifically) a special edition of the "Nuage" produced before Cappellini by Galerie Kreo in Polystirène. We don't know exactly how this small edition was distributed, because you can find items on ebay for less than 100€. Last year, three nuages were sold at $3500 at Philips Auction House. TheCappellini version, in Polyéthilène, is sold 500€ in Europe.

  •  The next piece is one of our favorite: the nino rota and none rota designed by Ron Arad for Cappellini. This furniture had a sad destiny: designed in 2001, it was first produced in glass fiber. But the production was stopped because of the breakable matter (an hundred item were produced)

Then the process was reconsidered and the chair was rebuild in polyétylène, in 4 colors (blue, green, red and white). But the production process was really expensive (it was not rotation molded, but plastic folded), and stopped less than one year later.

So this chair (None Rota) and the armchair (Nino Rota) are one of the only one serial objects from Ron Arad which has been discontinued. For the moment, these furnitures are not well none, and it's a good occasion to try to find some to buy. (last year, two items were not sold atPhilips House at stating price of $1500. It was a bargain. We consider that this furniture could rich the price of $4000 in the next five years.

Let us now if you have this furniture to sell.

  • Last, a furniture from the couple of designers Barber & Osgerby, from England. Their production is very simple, quite and essential. Even if they produced serial items for big trade marks, their furnitures are confidential, edited by Isokon and Cappellini. The loop collection was splitted between Isokon (table) and Cappellini(chairs, lounge chair, desk).  The loop lounge chair, designed in 1999, is a successful exercise od simplicity. Due to the original price (more than 4000€, $6000) the lounge chair is produced in very small quantity. Buy one in second hand could be a good choice.

We'll continue perioddically to propose some intersting design objects to be bought for investment.
